In early 1965, there were some big changes at the Fender® factory in Fullerton, CA. Namely, it was sold to CBS, and another is, the Jazzmaster bobbins were switched from black to gray. With the color change, came a change in the wind formula. Some offset aficionados prefer their unique, jangly sound to the slightly hotter winds of the previous years.
Just as with all our pickups, we use only the best and most accurate parts and materials. Our special cast, AlNiCo A5, individually charged magnets and heavy formvar copper wire, wound a touch hotter in the bridge, help you dig in and soar with these beauties.
This set is reverse wound, reverse polarity for hum cancellation in the middle position.
